FLIGHT PATHS NOT A DONE DEAL
SPACES LEFT AT 11AM, 1PM AND 2.30PM // FIRST SESSION FULL
Flight Path Forum is urging residents to register for an upcoming community information meeting scheduled for Saturday 24 October at the Peregian Beach Community House. “We are absolutely committed to a better outcome on flight path routes from Sunshine Coast Airport,” said FPF spokesperson Vivien Griffin. “We have good reason to be hopeful, we definitely need the united strength of affected residents.”
As it is a COVID safe event with limited seating, people should register early at www.flightpathforum.org.au to guarantee a place. Separate information sessions are scheduled for 9.30, 11.00, 1.00 and 2.30 with only 40 places per session available.
“At the meeting we will outline our strategy, why we are not giving up, and how residents must get involved if we are to be successful. People power can win the day. We have the support of Federal MP Lew O’Brien and Noosa Council, but it won’t count if residents don’t stay united and involved.”
“Airservices Australia is currently developing the Terms of Reference for its Post Implementation Review of the flight paths, and already Flight Path Forum has been able to reshape the direction of this process to ensure proper consultation.
“The damning Aircraft Noise Ombudsman report on the 2019 consultation was clear that alternative flight paths needed to be considered as part of the review, and now FPF has a strategy to ensure an independent professional process to deliver a better outcome.
“But it won’t happen without residents supporting our efforts,” said Ms.Griffin. “Please register for the meeting at www.flightpathforum.org.au and share with your social networks to spread the word.”
